Cacti are an all time classic. They are very easy to care for are readily available in all local garden centers. They are native to warm desert climates so do not require much water but they would love a warm place with lots of light to reside throughout the year.
The Angel Wings Cactus is also known as the bunny ears cactus. It is a classic looking cactus which grows at a manageable speed to a maximum height of around 5 feet. The Angel Wings cactus loves lots of light just like its original home in Mexico with an occasional sprinkling of water.
This lovely species of cactus is my personal favourite. It has an unusual spherical shape with some very sharp spines that are not for the faint hearted. They can grow the size of football or even bigger in some cases. They do have their downsides, as they are very tricky to repot due to the spines so be sure they have enough room in the pot from the beginning of their lives. Just like most Cacti, Barrels prefer lots of light with moist or dry soil, however, barrell cacti are quite robust and will be fine in areas of less light.
Although the Christmas cactus doesn't look like a typical cactus it behaves very similarly. The Christmas cactus will be great friend of yours over many years if you meet its simple caring requirements. The Christmas cactus has a strong chance of flowering in the summer which would really provide a vibrant colour to their room. These plants are native to colder and wetter regions than most cacti so water slightly more frequently. They should be happy near any windowsill with nice bright light.
They Old lady Cactus is a funny looking plant with unual spines that actually are more like fur! they can produce amazing pink flowers but don't get your hopes up too much becuase achieving flowers in house plants is very tricky - especially in cacti.
